The concept of a space elevator has been around since the 1900's. Using carbon nanotube technology the Japanese are now taking this idea to the next level. In essence it would mean being able to take a trip to geosynchronous orbit on a vertical elevator. Opening up whole new marketplaces for the manufacturing and purveyance of consumer electronics ....
