Monitor Audio Silver 2

This speaker is like the nerdy girl that gets left out at the start of the school disco and sits quietly in the corner until the shy geek raises enough nerve to ask her to dance. Then she blitzes the floor and leaves the Taylor Swift set gobsmacked and humiliated.

Neither fish nor fowl in the fashion stakes the Silver 2 actually conforms to the technical ideal of proportion for a two way nigh on point source transducer built using the most contemporary materials. That's a bit like like the girl who you want to raise your children, cook for you, and wake up with, actually looks more like Nigella Lawson than Taylor Swift ...

The Silver 2s are a speaker that sound much bigger than they are. That's quite something, considering that they're enormous for a bookshelf speaker. This is the speaker you want when you need the feel of a floor stander, but only have the space for a bookshelf speaker. These are beautiful without being fashionable, like a model with child bearing hips this is a product that delivers the goods when required.

They've got a massive 8" bass/mid driver made of Monitor Audio's golf-ball-like C-CAM material that they're so proud of. With good reason. The entire Silver series can be pushed and abused with very little distortion or break up of their outstanding reproduction. The weight and presence that these beasties bring to the table is truly something that has to be heard to be believed.
