This is a complete re-design of the 300 series by Acoustic Energy. The cabinets are using their specialised layering techniques that dampen resonances. This is a trickle down technology from their higher series.

The tweeters and the mid/bass drivers have both been completely replaced. The mid/bass driver now consists of a paper and coconut driver and the tweeter has been taken from their top-of-the-range Corinium speakers.

Expect more clarity and expansiveness than the previous design yet in keeping with their rich, smooth sound signature that we already love.

Along with these technical upgrades, Acoustic Energy has updated the aesthetics of the AE300.2. Again nothing drastically different. Their design heritage is still very evident. Finishes are a little more luxury, grills and trimmings exude an effortless chic.

The AE300² utilises brand-new paper/coconut-fibre bass-mid drivers which were developed using research derived from the CORINIUM project. These drivers, along with an all-new soft dome tweeter are housed in an inert, slimline 18mm constrained-layer RSC™ MDF/bitumen cabinet - offering a significant step up in both audio and material quality at this price point. The slot shaped duct port on the rear of the speaker augments the bass output and has been carefully developed to reduce the effect of air turbulence with a clean, undistorted bass performance.
