This is the classic mid priced Japanese turntable that to be honest was always outpointed on sound quality by Rega and Thorens but has its niche because of fully automatic operation allied to a reasonable tonearm and cartridge with a good acoustic plinth design. This is actually a surprisingly competent vinyl replay machine that age has wearied and is of fundamentally good quality and value.

With turntables in such a state of marketplace ascendancy it doesn't seem odd that I am writing about something that I believe I was selling in 1976.

In the 21st century the DP300 also has a switchable built in Phono preamplifier to make good for those latter day amps that dropped their own RIAA equalisation phono stages.
