Cinema 40 has capacity for 4 subwoofers and the suite of processing to go with it, that means your subwoofers won't cancel each other out. Yes this is often the problem with simply adding more subwoofers. Once you hit 2, subwoofers on opposing ends of the room generally create inverted sine waves that will cancel the effect of the existing subwoofers.

Interestingly, this unit also comes with the option to upgrade to Dirac Live, opening up another level of EQing possibilities previously unheard of at this pricepoint.
