The forever popular Gold series from Monitor Audio has upped the ante once again delivering the next level of listening for music lovers. One of the reasons we like Monitor Audio so much is their ability to reinvent their products without loosing their essential sound signature. 

For this Gold series, they have introduced new Hexagonal Diaphragms that produce markedly less distortion and a smoother frequency responsee as well as a new tweeter. This tweeter is the third version of the Micro Pleated Diaphragm (MPD) which was originally developed for the Hyphens, Monitor Audio's top-of-the-range. It consists of a piece of metal which vibrates similar to a ribbon tweeter. But in this case, the metal is folded so it acts like an accordion giving it greater dynamics, width and depth.
