REL T/7X Subwoofer
Not too small to be able to properly add bass to a decent set of floorstanders but also not big and cumbersome. The horror of 'large, black monolith subwoofer' is one step too far for some consumers.
Also if you'd like to add bass but keep the musical integrity of your system intact, a REL is perfect. The comment that I get from most customers who've bought these units is just how much the mid range, the sense of space and 3 dimensionality opened up. Of course it add bass as well but even a bad subwoofer can add bass. The test of a real subwoofer is how it blends with your system and enhances the musical experience.
If your looking for the heaviest pounding sub that pushes the most air maybe this isn't for you...but if you'd like to hear the detail in the double bass section of a full piece orchestra or the resonance in the tone of a cello, this is the one for you.
